Your baby will love being close to his favorite person (you!) and the swaying motion as you walk has a calming effect. You won’t find dancing bunnies or stiff fabric here–only sleek and modern fabrics that compliment your personal style.
Some of my favorites include the PSling New York Avant Wave. Check out actress Keri Russell as she carries her little bundle, 2-week-old River, in her blue P-Sling. Made from linen, this sling has a cool wave pattern that is created by the method of weaving the material. At $350, P-Sling does not want you to consider this simply a baby carrier, but “flexible clothing for wearing baby.” Pick up your P-sling by ordering from their online shop, or at the New York boutique.
If your tastes are a little more rock ‘n’ roll, you will love the Rockin’ Baby Ring Sling. These slings are made with funky fabrics that are perfect for the hip mama. Gwen Stefani loves to carry little Kingston in the Orange Zebra/Brown flowers sling ($97).
If you are looking for a sling that is a little more budget-friendly (but still sleek and stylish) check out the Hotslings ($44-$60). You don’t have to mess with rings or elaborate knots–just slip this over your head! As any sleep-deprived mom will tell you, this is a real plus! They come in many types of fabrics–from funky to simple. I have one for my baby and he loves it! Hotslings claim they can be used from newborns up to the toddler stage.
