Form fitting faux pas
October 21, 2007

There is nothing sexier than an outfit that shows off your pregnant body with all of its curves. I love the look of form fitting maternity clothes, but there is a right way and a wrong way to display your bump.
Here are the top 5 form-fitting faux pas to avoid:
1. Think body skimming instead of body hugging: the last thing you want to look like is a stuffed sausage.
2. Unless you are at the beach (or Angelina Jolie) I would avoid wearing tops that let your tummy hang out the bottom. Make sure you buy tops that are long enough to cover your belly or use a Bella Band to fill in the gap.
3. Form-fitting shirts can be unforgiving so look at yourself from the back to determine if you have bulges around your bra. You want a smooth line so either loosen up your bra or wear a larger shirt.
4. A smooth line also means keeping panty lines to a minimum. Either wear full coverage underwear that will keep panty lines to a minimum, or wear a comfortable pair of maternity thong underwear (yes, they do exist—click here for some options).
5. You don’t want to look like your cup runneth over: wear tops that show a hint of cleavage.

Got something to say?
