How to find jeans the right length off the rack
March 15, 2008

Finding jeans that are the right length can be difficult, especially if you are tall or petite. Who has time to go from store to store finding jeans that fit? That is why I am a big fan of SearchbyInseam.com.
This handy website allows you to find maternity jeans (or pants or workout pants) by inseam (from 17 inches to 34.5 inches), by brand and by price.
Are you not sure what your inseam is? According to the website, here is how you find out: “Start with a pair of pants you already have that fit you well and lay them flat on the floor. Carefully measure the length from the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg. THIS NUMBER IS YOUR INSEAM. Remember to take into account the height of heel you’ll most likely be wearing with the new pair, and add about 1/2 inch if you’re going to be buying pants that you’ll machine-wash to accommodate a bit of shrinkage.”
