Grab a little 'me' time

Even before your baby arrives, you may find yourself constantly buffeted by the demands of everyone else while thoroughly neglecting your own needs. Mom and writer Shelly Hemig advises moms to take one hour a day and recharge with some (or all!) of these ideas.

Take a bath: So maybe you're already clean. Soak anyway! Involve all of your senses with some scented candles, luxurious bubbles, oils and pampering lotions - while sipping a blend of your favorite tea.

Work out! Exercise does double duty by helping you stay physically fit, healthy and strong, while also providing some healthful stress relief.

Read a book: Make sure it's a book for fun (Shelly says books about parenting, self-improvement and home repair do not count). The object here is a little relaxing escapism. Just try to do it in moderation - reading for escape can become addictive!

Take a walk: You're not exercising here, though the movement can't hurt. This is about connecting with your environment and letting nature soothe your soul. Breathe deeply, take it slowly and relax!
