All tips : Life talk : Honey, we're pregnant!

Honey, we're pregnant!
by Nancy and Betsy

He's going to be a dad. How excited is he? Nearly 49% of pregnant women polled claim their partners are as thrilled as they are. But what about the rest of us? Take heart - especially if you're still early in your pregnancy. Many men initially are too distracted with worry to be excited. As licensed child and family therapist Ron Huxley, a father of four, explains, "It is natural for men to be consumed with worry about our families' health, finances, and needs."

Typically, dads-to-be take a more excited interest as your pregnancy advances and they can feel Junior moving about. You can also help move this process along by involving him as much as you can. Invite him to your prenatal appointments, ask him to share his thoughts and feelings in your pregnancy journal.
